PhD Students

Dustin Webb

PhD candidate in Computer Science
BS in Computer Science, University of Utah
Dustin received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Utah. He aspires to apply artificial intelligence techniques, particularly machine learning, to robotics. To that end his undergraduate research focused on distributed robotic control and motion planning. His bachelor's thesis focused on applying reinforcement learning techniques to the motion planning problem. When he is not working in the lab he can be found building robots to play Rock Band, volunteering with Utah First Lego League and Utah's FIRST Robotics Competition, or spending time with his family... drawing pictures of robots.

Daman Bareiss

PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering, Expected May 2015
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Oklahoma State University, May 2011

Daman is working on distributed colliison avoidance algorithms to let groups of robots share a common workspace and autonomously avoid collisions. When not working on research, he enjoys snowboarding with his family and playing video games.
